• North Hampshire Hospital: This is the main NHS hospital covering Basingstoke and the north Hampshire area. All the major medical specialties are available on this site. Private patients may be admitted here, particularly for the management of trauma.
• The Hampshire Clinic: Run by BMI (now part of Netcare) this hospital provides comprehensive facilities for private patients undergoing elective orthopaedic procedures.

Organizations:

• British Orthopaedic Association: The main professional society for British orthopaedic surgeons.
• British Hip Society: The society of orthopaedic surgeons with a specialist interest in hip surgery.

Educational sites:

• Orthoteers: A UK educational resource, which provides reliable in-depth information. The site was originally free, but full access  now requires subscription. Nevertheless the limited access available without subscription gives good basic information.
• Wheeless' textbook: A free resource provided by Duke University, North Carolina this provides comprehensive information on all orthopaedic topics.
